Que Duong Proves Her Wrong
Picked up the premiere issue of Amelie G magazine, a stylemag here in New Orleans. Flipping through it I was immediately impressed by the fashion photography of Que Duong. Visiting his website, I couldn’t help but notice the following statement:
My name is Que Duong and I am from New Orleans, Louisiana. I was born in Vietnam on April 25, 1987. When my mother was pregnant with me, a fortune teller / village witch doctor told her that I will grow up to be an average person. This is my journey to prove her wrong.
What little content there is on Duong’s blog is peppered with needless self-doubt. The photos below are a coloful display of his talent:
On further reflection, maybe telling a woman that her unborn child will grow up to be average is a clever shamanic ruse. Child Psychologists take note: Telling your kid that they are destined to grow up to be average will result in anything but an average adult, for better or worse. Sure, it’s a gamble, but in Duong’s case, it’s seems to be a gamble that has paid off. His work is nothing but above-average.
