Diego Diaz’s photographs are washed in a dreamy light. The overtones of much of his work reflect the essence of Màlaga, Spain - his hometown and biggest inspiration.

Currently based in Italy, Diaz’s career as a fashion photographer materialized through the digital plane. What follows is his experience of being offered a job over the internet, which for many of us sounds like a dream come true:

I was studying in Florence when a fashion designer saw [my work] on Flickr and contacted me for a fashion campaign. I didn’t believe him and said no - it was unbelievable to me. He sent me two or three emails, but always I said no. One night I met him at a party, and we started talking and became friends. As I had said no they did the campaign with a professional photographer in Milan, but when they got the pictures they threw them away and had me take the photos. That gave me strength to drop everything and do photography.
